Aloha, LSM! Last month, I wrote to you about Big Bear, bringing Karried Away closer to home. This month, I am going to keep it local, and tell you about a place near LSM that you can go to for a staycation!
What do you like about Lake San Marcos? I love the fact that it is like a haven hidden within the canyons and hills of this already-beautiful coastal region. Who knew you could also find a lake with so many exotic birds and other wildlife just ten miles from the beach? The place I am going to share with you today has a similar appeal. Plus, it also has a golf course, delicious restaurants similar to Amalfi, and several pools, just like LSM!
The Omni La Costa Resort and Spa is such a unique gem located near the east end of the Batiquitos Lagoon. When you are on the property, it takes you to a different dimension entirely. It really does make you feel like you are on island time.
I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to work at The La Costa Resort this summer. I really do feel like I am on an island, among the palm trees and the beautiful pools.
While working at the Omni this summer, I have become “golf cart certified,” which, if you have seen me drive, you would be laughing right now. However, I have been improving at maneuvering a golf cart, and now I am a pro!
I am not quite a golf pro, though. But, I have met them! So many of the golf tournament champions train on the La Costa Golf Courses, some of them saying that the La Costa course was more difficult than the US Open!
Anyway, I am writing to you about the La Costa Resort because my family went there for brunch this past-weekend. We sat on a patio overlooking the breathtaking golf course while enjoying the most decadent of dishes. My mom and I both ordered the eggs benedict which was so delicious that I cleared my whole plate! The VUE Restaurant was the perfect setting for a relaxing brunch, where we could spend quality time as a family.
I wanted to share this place with you all because it truly is a hidden gem that deserves to be enjoyed! Being so close to home, it is a quick and easy way to escape the hustle and bustle of our every-day lives and relax on island time. If you want to maximize your relaxation, you can even check out the award-winning spa to feel rejuvenated and refreshed. However you enjoy the La Costa Resort and Spa, there is something for everyone. Families can enjoy the splash pools and the restaurants. Kidtopia is an on-campus daily kids’ camp dedicated to getting their wiggles out and generating smiles with every fun activity. If you are looking to enjoy some alone time, you can book a cabana at the adult pool that is attached to the Mediterranean bar, Bartraza. And if you are sporty, the golf courses, tennis courts, and pickle ball courts are for you!
It truly is a haven that everyone in the family can enjoy! That sounds a lot like LSM, right? Just like LSM, this is a local gem that has yet to be discovered by so many, but I am writing to you today hoping this sparks your curiosity about the wonders of the Omni La Costa! And who knows, you might see me trying to avoid curbs while driving my golf cart around the property, and I’ll wave to you guys! You can always ask me for directions, but I wouldn’t recommend that you ask for a ride on my golf cart. It might not be as relaxing as the spa. That’s for sure! I hope to bump into you guys at the resort, while walking, not with my golf cart.
