Parents: Take Back Your Voice and Choose Vouchers

Private schools are not always shed in the best light. They are called too prissy, preppy, and stuck-up. Some parents want their children to have a more well-rounded education, thinking they will not get that at a private institution.
I went to the most typical public school you can think of. If you think of the high school in High School Musical, that was literally my high school experience. There were nerds, jocks, dorks, models, cheerleaders, and then there was me, Speech and Debate captain. So, yeah, it was pretty well-rounded, I would say.
However, even with my school emulating Rydell High, I still had to listen to my teachers assert their political opinions every day. I was a fifteen-year-old just barely scratching the surface of the political sphere, meanwhile having to sift through all the claims that were thrown at me in my classes. Thankfully, being on the debate team, I paid more attention to politics, so I made sure I formed my own opinions. But anyone who does not identify with the socialist left or believes in brainwashing students will find it disturbing that most students took in every word my teachers said as fact.
All of these issues can be avoided, and the Texas Legislature is already trying to make a change. What if I told you there was a way for your child to avoid the brainwashing that is so common in government-owned institutions and have a more well-rounded education?
Governor Abbott is pushing for an $8,000 voucher to be funded by taxpayers that could be used by any parent who opts to give their child a private education. This would open the option of private school to many more families who wish to avoid public schools.
Parents want to have a voice when it comes to their child’s education. Public schools do not prioritize what parents want their children to be learning. In public school, it’s all about what the state has mandated, everything from Common Core-style math to standardized tests like the STAAR test.
We have learned in the twenty-first century that children have different learning styles. In public schools, children are forced to conform to the state-required way of teaching. Private schools can prioritize students and ignore most of the bureaucracy that public schools need to deal with.
Texas parents are concerned with having a say in their child’s education. The vouchers will give many Texas parents a say again. Let’s save our youth from leftist indoctrination. They are the future of this nation, and that’s what the left is counting on. We cannot continue to give that power to the left, and we need to start giving the power back to the parents.
